One year ago today, I turned 40 with a good attitude. I’m a glass half full girl middle-aged woman. I walk on the sunny side of the street (figuratively and literally).
But despite some bright spots, this year turned out to be pretty damn grim. I’m very happy to put it behind me today.
So 40: goodbye, good riddance, and don’t let the door hit you on your way out. Go bother someone else.
And 41: The bar for this decade has been set low. Let’s try to do better.

The 40s had some good stuff but over all some big challenges. Almost 4 years into my 50s I am saying this decade is much better. So enjoy the good days of the decade you are in but … go ahead with the long view in mind.
